Fiber laser welding heads are widely used to focus a collimated laser beam to perform welding operations. It is important to protect the welding head for maximum performance of the fiber welding laser.
Gold Technic can provide an extensive range of Fiber Laser Welding Head protective window for most laser applications. Fiber Laser Welding Head protective window is usually a clear window “cover glass” that protects and prolongs the life of the focusing lens in the welding head.
Protective windows are recommended for shielding expensive focusing lenses from splatter and debris during laser processing. Backsplash is especially harmful to the welding head as it can damage the focusing lens coating and cause the welding head to deteriorate.
It is also important to choose a suitable protective material and A/R coating that is appropriate for the laser application.
Welding Head Maintenance
The Fiber Laser Welding Head protective window is a consumable that must be checked frequently and replaced as needed. Buildup of excessive dust and debris on the Fiber Laser Welding Head protective window will eventually lead to power absorption and a reduction in the power that emits from the focusing head, and will ultimately affect the weld finishing.
Fumes are generated during the welding process can also affect the coating on the welding head, hence, it is important that the focusing head is properly sealed after inserting the Welding Head protective window to prevent fumes from entering the focusing head and damaging the optical coating. Fiber Laser Welding Head Protective Window are available in a range of glass materials such as BK7, fused quartz and boro-silicate. Specifications such as thickness and diameters can be customised. Protective windows can be supplied uncoated or with an anti-reflection coating. Please contact us for more details on customisation and orders.
